What is digital maturity, and why measure it?
Digital maturity is how deeply technology is embedded in the way a company actually operates — not how many tools it has bought, but how much of the daily work runs on connected systems, reliable data and automation instead of manual effort. Measuring it matters because it turns a vague sense of "we should digitalize" into a concrete starting point: it shows which areas are already solid, which ones are holding the rest back, and therefore where the next investment will pay back fastest. Without a baseline, digitalization budgets tend to go to whatever is most visible rather than whatever is most limiting.
